Charles Lazarus, the founder of retail chain Toys ‘R’ Us, has died at the age of 94. His death comes just a week after the company announced its plans to close its US and UK stores.
Borin in 1923, Lazarus founded Toys ‘R’ Us in 1948, and was the company’s CEO until 1994. He remained chairman until 1998.
He lived a long life selling toys, kids books, art supplies and video games which made many people happy, and make life not as stressful when kids and adults are playing with toys, and video games.
He lived during one of the most interesting time for the toy and video industry being able to see so many new types of toys like Hot wheels, Power wheels, toy robots, kids' tablets and walkie talkies, Playstation, Super Nintendo, PSP and video games like Super Mario and Final Fantasy when he was alive.
