The good folks at Amazon.com sent out an e-mail blast this morning to remind customers about their DVD trade-in program. They had us at "Star Wars." The program allows users to trade in their old DVDs for store credit to go towards upcoming box sets on Blu-ray, for instance one involving a saga in a galaxy far, far away.

The complete six-movie saga will be available in one boxed set of nine Blu-ray discs, plus the original trilogy and the prequel trilogy will be available as three-disc sets, giving customers a variety to choose from. And Amazon always has just about the best prices you can find on the Internet for most new releases.

After you're done reading about the trade-in program's logistics, you can take a stroll over to the store's Star Wars selection of trade-in prices by clicking here. This will bring up a list of Star Wars releases that you can trade-in for some store credit. The prices range from favorable to unfavorable, but combined with the amount you will save by shopping at Amazon rather than a retailer, it may seem more to your liking.

The box sets look to be on track for a September 27, 2011 release date. We know where the Force will be that day: with us, on our HDTV. Stay tuned to IGN DVD for more information about this and other upcoming releases!

Woot! That's awesome!

For me? I'll pass on this one FOR NOW. :cheer:

If you can keep it until 10-40 years from now (to the point that it becomes a novelty item), it would be worth a fortune.
