The Turkish government has restricted access to Roblox following an investigation that uncovered content potentially linked to child exploitation. Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç stated on X, "According to our Constitution, our State is obligated to take necessary measures to protect our children."

The timeline for when Roblox might be reinstated in Turkey remains uncertain. In a statement on its website, Roblox acknowledged the blockage, saying, "On August 7, we discovered that Roblox was blocked in Turkey and are urgently working to address the issue. We are aware that millions of users in Turkey, including a vibrant community of developers, rely on our platform daily. We are committed to the safety of our community and share the global commitment to child protection."

Roblox spokesperson Eric Porterfield commented to The Verge, "We respect the laws and regulations in the countries where we operate and align with local lawmakers’ dedication to child welfare. We hope to resolve this situation and restore Roblox access in Turkey as soon as possible."

This move comes on the heels of Turkey’s recent decision to block Instagram and follows a temporary restriction on Threads by Meta in April due to regulatory concerns. In 2020, Turkey also lifted a ban on Wikipedia after more than two years.

I wonder how long the Roblox ban will last when many people in Turkey start to protest that Roblox is blocked, and the Roblox Turkey ban is causing many people from earning less or no money per year if most of their money is from Roblox which is be bad for Turkey'seconomy.

Turkey economy may also be losing many thousands to millions of dollars in sales tax per day by banning Roblox. Turkey Roblox Developers can no longer earn money from selling their paid Roblox content. Roblox Developers in Turkey will most likely be spending less money at Turkey's stores and restaurants because they no longer can make money in Roblox.

The Roblox developers are based in the US, not Turkey.

I was posting about 3rd-party Turkish Developers who uploaded their self-made 3rd-party games to Roblox to earn money with their game on Roblox.

Doing an online search, I found a Turkish person posted on Reddit that say he is making money from his homemade Roblox games which he published to Roblox's main game.

Hello there. I’m a 17 year old from Turkey and I’m earning around 15k-19k usd a month from my roblox game and I estimate to double or triple that income in the upcoming months and make even more than that in the coming years. I’m really desperate for guidance.

Thats still not affecting the Turkish economy though, because theyre being paid by an American corporation.
