Looks like a good top 10 on one of my favourite Linux based operating systems. I been using Ubuntu Linux 12.04 for a day now, and it is fast, stable, and easy to use.

For the basic programs for Ubuntu like Word Processing, printing, Web Browsers, image editing, video editing, and installing programs from the internet or the Ubuntu Software Center, Ubuntu can be learned without going to school since it features are very similar to Windows, Mac, and other Linux operating systems. All you need to do is install it on your computer, Buy a computer or laptop with Ubuntu installed on it like from http://system76.com/ or run it from the Install CD to try it out, and in a few hours and days you can learn how to do most of the basic tasks like web browsing, e-mail, video, gimp, and more.

But, for more advance task like using Ubuntu as a file, database or web server, school would be useful.
