Today I went to a local game shop, and tried to order Kid Icarus. The manager told me "that the 3ds is kind a a dead system, and they will discontinue it soon."

What a load of piss. I am so angry at how dumb this guy was. I went on to correct him in a nice way, saying that what he said is not true, and yes there will eventually be a redesign of the system, but just like the original DS was redesigned. I also went on to say that the system is selling really well right now, but he didn't seem to care.

Is this what the public thinks? Because I know at least a dozen local friends with the 3ds and not a one with the Vita.

Please respond I am pretty upset I need a little counseling.

Some people have their own opinion. Some are just plain stupid, like the one you mentioned the guy said, and some are really interesting or good. Maybe it just made him feel better to say that. Or maybe he didn't look to actually see how well the system is doing. I don't know. That's what I think but it may be a totally different reason on why he said that. But like I said, I don't know.

Regardless of his opinion, he should still stock the shelves and then just go by what the public purchases.

I went to a game store and was very impressed with all the Pokemon plushies (they had on display one of every plushie made this generation) and was shocked to learn that the owner hated Pokemon. Even if you don't like it, you have to sell what people want.

They guy is clearing a moron. You should have laughed in his face.
I think you mean 'uninformed though, not 'uniformed'. When I read the topic title, I thought it was about the attire of game store employees.

That guy is an idiot. Someone tell him that if the 3DS is supposedly 'dead', then the PSP is even more 'dead'. But it's not dead, it's doing great the moment.

More like, if the 3DS is dead, the PSVita is dead. PSP is actually pretty dead already; many stores I know were getting rid of their stock of PSP games. Nintendo handheld games, on the other hand, are still bouncing around quite merrily.
