Filming on Transformers 3 was suspended Wednesday night after an accident on location left an extra seriously injured.
ABC reports that Gabriella Cedillo, a 24-year-old aspiring actress working as an extra on the film, was injured when a stunt involving a car went awry. Cedillo was sitting in her own car during a scene being filmed in East Chicago, Indiana when an object reportedly crashed through her windshield.
"The vehicle was being towed by another vehicle," Blaine Baker, a fellow extra, told ABC. "The cable between the two vehicles broke. It whipped around and sliced through the woman's car and sliced through her skull, apparently."
ABC adds, "Baker said the car was then dragged along a center divider for about half a mile, 'grinding the side of the car off.'"
Indiana State Police are said to have shut down production -- which was already slated to finish shooting at that location Thursday -- and impounded the equipment used in the stunt.
