Update and unbrick your PS3

Following the release of a new firmware update that bricked some consoles, Sony delivers a new version of its software.

Sony also offered a guide for users with bricked consoles which should allow them to switch their PS3 to safe mode, and install the new firmware.

I guest this update is not useful for someone who does not have a USB Flash drive, SD Card, or a computer or laptop.

Plus, the steps like booting into safemode to manually update it, and making a USB drive can be hard for the non-tech savvy.

I think a bootable repair CD would of been easier for many users, and more people probably own a CD burner , and burn a CD than a USB flash drive to prepare the repair drive.
