PlayStation Network will soon be getting another injection of nostalgia as Square-Enix plans to release the original Final Fantasy VIII as a downloadable title for PlayStation 3 in North America.

According to a consumer e-mail sent out this morning by Sony, the PlayStation classic from 1999 is "coming soon" to PSN, however, no additional details were provided.

The title was released in Japan earlier this year. We contacted Sony for more information and will update this post when we hear back.
