Valve taking action on gambling sites using Steam

Like the CS:GO one that caused a lot of controversy online a few days ago. They've released a statement about them here:

They say that they don't profit from these sites, and that using the Steam API for this stuff is against the terms of service. They also say that they'll start sending notices to these sites about this, and will look at further action if necessary.

So yeah, the Counter Strike gambling sites aren't going to be around much longer now. Hope this kills off this black market once and for all, and stops all these sites trying to get kids into gambling in the process.
 
Let's just hope Valve gives these players a lawsuit and a banhammer for promoting and creating a website for cheating and paying weapons just to rip people off online.
 
Personally I'm indifferent. If Valve wants to get rid of the sites because it's endorsing illicit gambling, I'm all for it. It doesn't affect me and if it makes things better then that's good. :)
