Steam fans may never have to leave the comfort of their gaming systems again. Valve, the company behind SteamOS, could be adding movies, TV shows and music app types to its operating system, possibly adding a Netflix-like component to upcoming Steam boxes.
This speculation arises from bits of code discovered within a Steam Beta update that introduces five new app types with comments next to them saying, "film," "tvseries," "video," "plugin" and "music." The new app types were discovered by SteamDB, posting a before and after comparison of the same section in Steam's code.

I bet, if Steam makes a TV or movie series about Half-Life, Left 4 dead, and Team Fortress and make it a Steam Machine exclusive a lot of people will build or buy a Steam Machine. Hopefully, Steam will let people listen to music from Portal, Half Life, and Left 4 dead, etc from their games for free on the Steam Machine.
The Steam Machine sounds better than the Xbox One which was originally show case as a TV, music, and movie box game console.
Apple TV, Android TV, and Roku should watch out if it is true that the Steam Machine will also be a media player console capable of watching Netflix, video files, movies, TV shows, and listening to music.
