If you live in Massachusetts, Rhode Island or New York, and you happen to subscribe, or are thinking about subscribing, to Verizon’s FIOS or High Speed Internet service, you will soon have access to a new PC gaming service as well.

The service, which is expected to start sometime this summer, costs $9.99 per month, and will offer customers unlimited access to over 1,400 PC games. The games can either be downloaded or played on any computer with an Internet connection. If this all sounds a bit like the online PC gaming service offered by GameTap, that’s because it’s exactly like it, only GameTap’s monthly fee is five cents cheaper per month. Plus with GameTap, whose catalogue of games is easily comparable to Verizon’s, you don’t need to be a Verizon subscriber or sign up for one of Verizon’s Internet packages, and anyone, anywhere can subscribe.

Just in case you were curious, here’s a list of some of the games Verizon is using to lure prospective subscribers:

Families:

* Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader
* Jewel Quest
* The Price Is Right
* Boggle
* Risk

Kids:

* Bob The Builder
* Clifford The Big Red Dog
* SpongeBob
* Teaches Typing
* American Girl
* Zoo Tycoon

Casual Gamers:

* Bejeweled Twist
* Diner Dash
* Agatha Christie
* Virtual Villagers
* Splinter Cell
* Prince of Persia

The list of games you posted don't seem very fun. I think Gametaps library is better.

Only Splinter cell and prince of persia look fun.
