As well as urban legends about them in general?
For me, it was the usual stuff. Like Luigi in Super Mario 64, which I must have spent quite a bit of time trying to find. Or the Triforce in Ocarina of Time. God that was fun back then, I remember coming across stuff like this, with a whole laundry list of different ways to get it:

And then... yeah, Mew in Pokemon. God, must have been a million rumours on how to get Mew without a Gameshark or event (like the one with the truck/lorry near the SS Anne), and those were arguably more amusing to read about than anything legit about the game.
But what video game hoaxes and urban legends did you used to believe?
