NEW YORK (AP) — A research firm says U.S. retail sales of new video game hardware, software and accessories fell 25 percent in October. The drop marks the 11th straight month of declining sales for physical game products. Many gamers are waiting for big holiday releases such as Activision Blizzard Inc.'s "Call of Duty: Black Ops II."

I wonder if November and December be a better month with Christmas.

Well if they expect people to continuously buy $60 games, which most of the time aren't worth it, in a shit economy, they got another thing coming to them. They should lower the prices back to $40.

I agree, 60 dollar games is too much for a lot of games espiecially for casual games, re-makes and sequals like Need For Speed which get a new version every few month, and PC have some pretty good games like Minecraft for cheaper prices like 27 dollars.

I also think people don't like paying extra for Downloadable content like maps and levels since DLC can be expensive if you buy a lot of DLC.

Steam also has some pretty good prices on games.

First off we had a ton of games come out earlier this year that sucked up people's money and as mentioned we gamers can't keep shoving out $60 for a video game then more for DLC. Plus many are going to Steam while others wait for big releases like halo and the new CoD.

I feel there are people who are starting to get bored with CoD since there are so many versions since CoD 1 which was release many years a go, and they are waiting for an epic new shooter game with different stories and characters.

Black Ops II has a lower pre-order count than MW3. Might be the first Call of Duty game to not surpass sales for all the others.

I do agree with lowering the prices, the most that games should cost, with exceptions, should be around $50 especially if you're remaking games.

There are $15-20 video games in the bargain bin of stores like Wal-Mart, but most of the games are very old, or casual games.

Maybe new consoles like Ouya and the Wikipad will increase game sales with digital downloads, premium paid digital levels or money like World of Warcraft gold for selling games for less.

A lot of games are becoming $20-30. When they retail for $60, it takes a few months before they are at $30, unless it sells a ton like Call of Duty or Skyrim.
