I hope he doesn't overkill it and go over the top with it when he gambles, because then he will lose big. Is he skilled at playing the black jack or something else?
Nope.. he is as sensible as I am about gambling. He'll spend $20 on the penny slots and $20 playing Spanish 21 where supposedly your odds are better compared to traditional 21 (Black Jack) but we also have our own set of strict rules to follow.
1. We don't gamble at the same time.
2. We don't drink when playing, even though drinks are free.
3. We get each other's change, cash out each other's winnings, subtract $5 from the winnings, give the $5 to the other person to continue playing, and hold on to the rest to prevent temptation.
4. We watch the machine should the other have to go to the restroom, walk around, etc.,
5. We watch the other's surroundings for any fishy behavior.
6. We stop after our initial $40 gambling money is spent and leave the casino. Even if we won $100, we don't spend it, and immediately cash out after any win in which, we make a profit.. Whether it is $2 or $20, we cash out, and don't play it down. You'd be amazed at how quickly the profits add up, and we don't tell the other person until after we've left the casino for the day.
7. We only put $5 bills in the machines that we are playing. No bigger, no smaller.
8. We never leave the hotel with more than $40 in gambling money each day we're there, and we never spend our winnings to gamble and leave our winnings in the hotel when we go outside the next day.
9. We always have means of getting home. Whether it is a round trip ticket, or gas money.
10. The only cash we have, is our daily gambling money, and winnings. Everything else resides on our ATM cards, and we don't use them in the casinos or at any ATM machine while we are down there.
I know these rules are strict, but they are effective in making sure that we don't go overboard or are taken advantage of and it ensures that we have money to enjoy the rest of our trip since we don't go there exclusively to gamble.. I have spent about $30 dollars on the penny slots during a 3 day trip to Atlantic City and came home with almost $600, and this is not counting the money designated for shopping, eating out or the remainder of the gambling money that was never spent.
