A new video game console launched in China recently, featuring an NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor, Extreme Reality’s motion controls, and Google Android-based software.

The game console is called the Warchief, and it sells for about $160, which makes a bit pricey for an Android TV box, but pretty inexpensive for a video game console.

The Warchief game console was developed by Qihoo 360 and Xiacong and comes with a wireless gamepad, a Wiimote-style controller with a gyroscrope for motion controls, and a webcam which can detect gestures so you can interact with some games using your body.

The system has 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, four USB 2.0 ports, Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, and HDMI output with support for 4K video playback.

This does look like a nice $160 game console. It's nice that it comes with the Nvidia Tegra K1 instead of cheaper CPUs which are less powerful. It is also nice that it has 4 USB 2.0 ports, ethernet, 4k video playback, 2GB RAM, and 32 GB of storage.

It is also impressive that it comes with a motion controller, webcam, and gamepad controller, and still cost only $160 for all this stuff which is included.

I think Google Android games like Asphalt 8, Dungeon Hunter 4, Dead Trigger, Real Racing, etc which are compateble with a gamepad controller, or motion controller on Google Play should work on this console since the console runs on Android. Games made for the Ouya console would most likely work on this console since the Ouya is also uses Google Android, and uses an older Nvidia Tegra 3 chip.

You can also run emulators for consoles like the PS1, PS2, SNES, N64, and Sega Genesis on this console.

very nice, too bad its china only.
I bet Chinese Consoles would eventually launch in other countries after they translated their Chinese games to English, and other non-Chinese languages.

It's unlikely to happen anytime soon. Their market share is already big enough in their country. Why would they bother translating the games?

There are now more westerners who live in China because of work, family commitments, and school now that China economy is getting better, so Chinese consoles will get more gamers from foreigners living in China by translating games to English.

Eventually, as more games are translated to English, more Chinese games and consoles will be released in other countries.

Japan has a strong hold on other countries, I don't see China muscling in on that.
China can muscle in on emulator consoles which plays emulated games of Japanese and American classic console like Playstation, N64, SNES, and Atari.

A lot of people who buy Google Android consoles mainly buy them to play emulators of classic consoles, and most Google Android consoles are made by China.

China can also make Steam Machines since Steam OS is free for anyone to download on a PC, and the Chinese have a lot of PC factories which can be used to build Steam Machines by installing Steam OS on Gaming PC which they make.

I'm not sure, but I bet this Warchief console with a Nvidia Tegra K1 can play most playstation 1, N64, Gamecube, PSP, Gameboy, and other popular console emulators pretty well since the Nvidia Tegra K1 is one of the most popular and fastest Nvidia Tegra chip until the Tegra X1 is release in a few months.

I bet, when the Nvidia X1 consoles are release, they can play most previous gen emulators.
