Do you think that the 3DS was released a bit early?
After all, the lack of good games out and key features such as Internet Browser and Shop weren't out when it was released. (OR still is)

So this raises a question, do you think it was released early?

This is something I don't get... first people are moaning that it was delayed and that it should have been released in November 2010 or something, and NOW they're complaining that it was released early.

It was NOT released early. It wasn't the 3DS that was released early, since back in March 2010 they already planned it for released by the end of March, rather it's a case of the eShop and Internet Browser has taken longer to develop.... I think.

The black part looks better on the prototypes.I HATE the black part on my 3ds.Ibarely touch it and it makes fingerprints!I hate it!

That's because it's made of glass.

And the 3DS wasn't released too early. The eShop merely took longer to develop than expected, as said above. As for the lack of good games, that's because Nintendo intentionally held off from the launch in order to encourage 3rd parties. The 3DS itself was actually ready to sell last November. They only needed those extra months to actually manufacture enough units to sell.
Anyway, all this talk to lack of good games, but it really isn't that bad. Practically no console launch has ever had a great selection of games. The 3DS's launch line-up is mediocre at worst; there have been many worse examples. The DS's for instance; practically a waste land for the first year.

What do you mean black part? The cameras? The infrared thing? Those 2 parts of the stylus? The entire Cosmo Black 3DS? What black part?

Personally, I think it was released a little too early. There wasn't much of anything good for its release in my own opinion. I don't think waiting a bit longer would've hurt anything- in fact, I think it would have been better to wait until everything was ready to go. I don't like the idea of purchasing something and not being able to use all of its features when I get it, especially if it's something so expensive.

The launch date was fine. The amount of games available at launch shouldn't have been such a surprise, as well the features missing from the current firmware installed. To tell the truth, it honestly gave me plenty of much needed lee way to enjoy what ever 3DS games I had purchased or DS games I had already owned. Just wait and see, soon enough the 3DS will print money just as its predecessor did before it and soon there will be a game library providing the variety everyone is yearning for.

I'm pretty sure he means the black part around the top screen (certainly that's what i took him to mean). This part will obviously gather finger prints (assuming you're clumsy enough to actually touch it, of course) since it is made of glass.

yup,I try not to touch it,but it happens anyway.Especially near the 3d depth slider.I hope future models wont have that.(cmon, they made different models with the Gameboy,Gameboy Advance, and Ds,theyre bound to do it with the 3ds.)

Try the HORI Screen Protector, it's what I'm using. Still gets the occasional finger print, but way less and super easy to get rid of. Especially no more worries of messing up the screen

To be honest, fingerprints on that part are easy to get rid of, anyway.
And Nintendo went with that particular surround because having a continuous surface and a black surround makes the 3D effect look better.

really? well thanks for clearing that up.I was beginning to wonder why'd why they'd do such a thing

Well, always avoiding touching it for best results. *Shifty eyes*

no, but we didn't count on an Earthquake either. People are a little shook up (no pun intended) in the land of the rising sun. And everyone else just needs to get the system. Its FUN!
