Was Zelda better without a timeline?

Part of me suspects it was more fun to discuss the series when you didn't know what order the games were in simply because of all the creative fan ideas and intepretations.

But with it revealed by Hyrule Historia, something's missing. It seems kind of dull simply because there isn't much to discuss any more, all the interesting fan ideas have either been confirmed outright or denied outright.

As a cynic, you could even say it's kind of killed Zelda theorising stone dead simply by existing... It'd be like if some Bible translation existed which was confirmed by God and said the exact right way to interpret everything, you'd pretty much kill off a whole field...

I like it with a timeline. I personally don't believe the timeline from the Hyrule whatever book. Link never died, that is that. You litterally can't argue with that. So I'm still trying to find the real timeline myself.

DYL's view is similar to mine. Do I like the idea of a timeline? Yes. Do I agree with the "official" timeline? Not a chance. I have my own views on what goes when, and regardless of what it "really" is, that's how it'll be for me.
