water filters

anybody know a good water filter for a kitchen sink faucet? the one my parents had is leaking out of the side (unfixable) and didn't even last a year. it was a three stage pur filter that looks like this

anyone have a good filter that goes onto the faucet easily? As the current one they have was a bitch to put on.

I like the Brita Water filter and/or the water pitcher. Although, I haven't used them in while since the tap water where I live is very clean..

our water used to be clean and good tasting, not sure but the clean but now but our water gets a bad taste if it's left standing in a glass too long.

I used a pitcher as well for a water filter, but I think the filters are generic water filters which are cheaper.

I believe our water goes through a process to soften it.
