Acclaimed actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson and visionary filmmaker Robert Eggers first teamed up on the 2024 gothic horror film Nosferatu. Taylor-Johnson played a supporting role as part of a star-studded ensemble cast that included Bill Skarsgård, Nicholas Hoult, Lily-Rose Depp, and Willem Dafoe. The movie was a major box office and critical success, earning four Academy Award nominations, including nods for Best Costume Design and Best Makeup and Hairstyling, as the cast underwent significant transformations to fit the 1830s setting. Following the success of their first collaboration, the duo quickly reunited for Eggers' next feature, Werwulf, which sees Taylor-Johnson stepping into the leading role and changing up his look once more.

With its story unraveling in 13th century England, Werwulf gives the renowned horror maestro new territory to explore, only this time he is swapping vampires for werewolves. The movie centers around "a mysterious creature" that "stalks a foggy countryside as local folklore becomes a terrifying reality for the villagers." The bloodthirsty beast is none other than Taylor-Johnson and, judging by the latest look at his character, which arrives courtesy of Esquire, his appearance has undergone a dramatic shift from his role in Nosferatu.

Sounds interesting enough.
