I think "Bring your own device" to work or school is convenient especially if you have software you are more used to, or if your school and work computer is slow and poorly maintained, or you have no computer to work with like someone who is hired to make and maintain an app or website for a bakery, or plumber which might not have a computer or laptop for their app or web site designer to use to make them an app or website.

There always never seem to be enough computers in the library, computer lab, or even classroom during lunch hours, so using your own devices can make fewer people use the computers for YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and other social networks which can be easy to access on a phone, tablet, or laptop.

I remember in high school, people had to wait, or sign up for computer time at the library.

I'm all for it, I hate touching public PCs. The other day I watched a young woman touch her bare feet for a few moments then began to use the mouse and keyboard.

I would do this if and only if, they have an insurance and replacement plan in place to protect my device, so that in case of loss, theft or damage, then I have the peace of mind in knowing that my device will be replaced with a brand new one.

I figure that if they are going to force people to use their own devices for work or school because they are too cheap to supply them themselves, then they had better have a solid insurance and protection plan in place.

I probably just buy a second hand laptop, or cheaper laptop to use

I don't really enjoy using public computers for the same reason of people picking their nose, feet, or body parts before using a computer. I hate it when people also eat and drink near a computer since the keys get food on them.

I really hate when people mess up the settings and turn the brightness all the way down or something.
