What do you like about the God of War series?

God of War is one of the premier video game franchises of the PlayStation. The series started out in the PS2 and continued on the PS3 and also had some games on the PSP. To be honest, I didn't like the first God of War. It was very linear and all you did was button mash your way through waves of enemies.

Then God of War 2 came. I tried it out despite not loving the first God of War. And you know what? I loved every bit of it. The narrative was perfect, the graphics were superb, and the combat was a lot more polished than part 1. From then on, I loved God of War. The blood, the gore, the mythology, even the nude ladies that Kratos made love with. :)

For me, the combat mechanics ad the feel of the world are the two things that are the selling points of this game. I have been a fan of this franchise since the very first game, but the last one felt kinda rushed. Moreover, I wouldn't mind some refreshing changes and revamps to the already tried and tested formula.
 
For me definitely the combat
It's hack n Slash and feels pretty amazing because of the way it connects with the enemy and the way they move based on that, and those chains he uses just give me an amazing feeling
After that would have to be the story, It's gory but pretty amazing, I Love chains of Olympus on the PSP aswell. That was my first God of war game
 
I love the mechanics most of all. I'm not too fond of the quick time events, admittedly, but I love the movement and combos as they made what supposedly should feel repetitive very interesting. I'm not very fond of the theme either, as I'm not really a fan of Greek mythology to begin with, but even I enjoyed these games despite of it, so I think that's something to be said for this series.
 
I just like the fighting really. I have played through the game before and didn't even know how the story went I was just focused on fighthing because to me it felt like that was all that I was doing in the game.
 
Honestly, the only thing I really liked about the series was the storyline. The fighting was a no brainer. If you can spin in circles while tapping square repeatedly, you've pretty much beat the game.

I do like the series very much however.  I think I liked the 2nd one the best, then the third, then the first.  All good games, and keepers.

Haha! Yep, Kratos is one big jerk. He has killed numerous mortals and gods... But come to think of it, isn't it you who's making Kratos do all the killing?

I only played God of War 2 and it was a fantastic experience! Wish I'd forget everything about the game so I can re-play it again with no memories. The gameplay was intense and the weapons fun, but what I liked best were the set pieces. Everything had scale and was imposing. You really felt like a mythological creature or GOD in those settings.
 
I love alot of different things about it to be honest!
Love the story and the game play elements to go with it.
Also, like the graphics and felt like it always worked to have high standards of graphics.
 
Okay as much as I like Greek Mythology I couldn't get into God of War because I didn't like it in general. I just couldn't get into the game at all. I'm not saying it was a bad game, it just didn't interest me like some games do.
