I think the internet is. Or it feels like it when they’re more honed in on censoring websites for ad placement, as they already figured it out for the traditional media.
Afraid as in they want more control over, or afraid as in what they cannot censor? With TV it's easier to manipulate what shows because of corporate media. They can already edit the news they want and spin. With paper, no one reads it. It's as powerful as a conspiracy to the impressionable. Songs are already uncensored. You can only say so much. Movies are already headed in one direction and that has propaganda in it one way or the other. The internet is what they cannot control. In a way, censorship is already there. Either it's too hard to find enjoyment in it because of the political misinformation and you can't talk bad about the government for reasons unknown.
I'm more afraid if the significant lack of impact that anything on the internet does for the average person.
