I use a Netgear WNR2000, and I've honestly had nothing but issues with it. It cuts in and out, the reception on it is mediocre at best, and it makes a better paperweight than a wireless router due to these facts.
I use a cheap Trendnet Router which I got for free from my sister. I need to restart it at least once a day or every two days, but aside from the restarting problem it still worked great after 5 or so years. It works alright for my basic needs of getting online wirelessly, and the speed is pretty good for browsing the web in my experience. I'm just glad the reception can travel up 3 floors at my home.
It is a pretty good wired router as well. I never had problems with my wired internet disconnecting.
