What games have the best interaction with pets, mounts, etc?

What video games provide the most detailed and satisfying interaction mechanics for pets, mounts, and so forth? What would you like to see video games do in this area that they are not yet doing?

Legends Arceus is good about immersion. For standard animals, though I like Nintendogs because it's the whole game and even though you have a pet there's a sense of progression in cleaning and walking the dog and at the end where you walk for more items and compete in contests. Maybe if there were some character like a judge from the game that has his own dog and you see them for a walk that would be a cool feature but I never read the manual (not sure about a Prima guide) but man it's so immersive I think it deserves to make a comeback or revisit by content creators.

Most of these open world games do a decent job of setting it up.
