I agree many people who buy tablets just use it, so they don't miss not having a computer device when they have to leave the house, or feel the need to be posting status updates, videos, and photos on Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube even when they are not at home.
A tablet is also considered a PC with Remote desktop Control software for ipad 2 or Google Android, you can have the PC experience on any tablet, or you can just buy a more expensive Windows 7 Tablet which is just a portable Windows 7 computer.
I don't have one yet, but I will get one soon.. and for me, the device will be purely for browsing, and running apps on a larger screen that is easier for me to read, and for gaming the same way as well..
I will probably only use it when travelling, be it out of state, or just visiting my parent's house.. I know that it isn't a replacement for a laptop or desktop computer, and I am not really looking to use it as a means of connecting to others.. I already have a phone for that.
I just want something that I can run my apps and games on and also use for browsing and do so with more comfort and space to work with..
Yes, a Tablet main use is Mobile computing. I think slowly over time, faster Tablets might make it into Desktop computing category like Laptops. A lot of people no longer own desktops, and just own laptops to use like a desktop by attaching their Laptop to a bigger screen via HDMI, VGA, DVI, and using a USB keyboard and better speakers when they are at home.
