To be fair, there are about just as many Fae's and other European monsters. Africa also has it's fair share. And then Native American ones which I'm assuming were more numerous, just mostly forgotten about with not a lot of people left that know the stories well enough to tell them.



As for me I'd say how perverted they can be. My one aunt lived in Japan a few years and always tells me how pure and proper the people there are. Which I can easily get since life Japan is all about maintaining a good image of yourself, mostly at school and work. It's probably all that pressure and constraint that makes them go plus ultra when they can let go and have fun.

This is just my theory so don’t take it as fact, but seeing how they treat most of their entertainment media, I think they’re just really good at milking things for money. You see the tons of different merch for some of their stuff, and how quickly they start spitting out copycats for cash cow franchises. Then there are CD’s for idol groups, and if you put an individual girl’s picture in the CD, but have it randomized, people will buy 10+ copies in the hopes that at least one of them will have the girl they want.

So I think someone just throws shit at a wall, or finds some fetish people are willing to pay for, then some exec goes “so people are willing to pay for this? Let’s do it”

Before Twitch allowed it, there were (they probably still exist) where they had sites similar to Chaturbate, but you just watch girls eat and people paid them money.

Then you have findom (aka financial domination) on Twitter where you just tweet out shit like “mmm, mommy (or daddy) needs some new socks, which of my little pay pigs are willing to donate to my PayPal account? My Amazon wish list isn’t going to buy itself”.

I think Japan just has this done on a big company level instead of some rando who owns a website.
