I notice bloated antivirus made by some companies can slow down a PC. I heard older versions of Norton anti-virus slow down a PC.

Start-up programs sometimes make things slow as well.

Adobe Flash Player, Internet Explorer, and Firefox also seem to make my computer slow because they use a lot of RAM sometimes. Google Chrome also seems to use a lot of RAM if I have too many tabs, and flash video and games open.

Overheating computer parts also can make my computer slow.

Fragmented hard drives which never been defrag also are slow.

some programs make my computer fan speed up, but my PC never slows down.

Didn't we already have a topic about this? Not sure but if not, never mind :P Anyways, it's all the crapware that the manufacturers pre load the computer with.

I heard Manufactures get paid to install trialware on to their PCs since it helps them make a greater profit by charging Norton, and other companies for installing trialware onto PCs.

I agree Skype tends to slow down my laptop, and internet connection.

I also dislike that Skype install Add-ons/toolbars to Firefox, Chrome, IE, etc.

If you add enough bloat to something, it will slow down regardless of the type of device that it is on.

Although on mobile devices, not only do you have to worry about space and performance being affected, but you have to worry about your privacy being invaded as well.

That is why it is always the first thing to go.
