What the Hell Happened To MTV??!?!?!

I haven't watched MTV in years. I remember last watching it back in the early '90s, they had such great music videos on there, like Metallica and others I forget. It was awesome.

So I finally had the time to flip through the channels on TV today. When I switch to MTV, what do I first see? Some dumb reality show where a bunch of upper-class retards are stuck in a house licking each other's legs and stupid stuff like that. What is this garbage? I don't care about these idiots! I don't care if this guy is sleeping with that girl. I don't care about the token gay guy who wants to be straight. I want some music, goddammit!

After waiting 20 minutes for the show to be over, the music videos came on. Finally, some good stuff. But alas, all the music videos were just the same pop/punk/emo "hits" that kids are into these days. They didn't even show one single song from the new Metallica album.

What happened to the old MTV that I used to love?

Also, I'm completely convinced that MTV is at least partially responsible for people in this country getting dumber. Seriously, there isn't an intelligent show on that channel, which is supposed to play music in the first place. FUSE was way better, but they've started getting some dumb programming as well.

Agreed. I miss the MTV of the 80s and early 90s. I also miss TVLand.

it's still good but there getting to many reality tv shows.

Apparently, new>good, nowadays. I stopped watching TV. I'm also the smartest member of my family.

But on topic... MTV sucks, CN took all the good stuff, and now ther really isnt many good things to watch
