What was your first Nintendo system?

So Nintendo has been around for a long time in the console and game making business. I'm just curious to see what everyone's first Nintendo console was? I know it depends on what systems were available at the time you were old enough to play them, but it's still nice to hear from others. For me, when I was old enough to game, it was the NES even though the SNES just game out during that time. I got hooked on Super Mario Bros which was my gateway that lead to my gaming addiction. lol.

I believe it was N64. I forgot it though since I played it when I was around 6. I can remember that I'm just fooling around and pressing different buttons haha.

I remember the N64!!!! and begging my mom to get one for me when it first came out. Lots of good games for that system like Ocarina of Time, GoldenEye, Majora's Mask and MegaMan 64. Man, the nostalgia! I use to waste hours playing those games instead of doing my homework. lol

My first Nintendo console and also my first console ever was the Super Nintendo. I remember seeing it on Christmas day when I was a little boy. Me and my mom used to play it for hours. I loved that gaming console.
I owned a lot of games on it as well. I owned Super Mario, The Mask and the rest I can't remember. That was the start of gaming for me.

If handheld consoles count, it was the Gameboy. If it doesn't it would have to be the Gamecube. I had a lot of good memories on both of those. Mostly played Pokemon among other games on the Gameboy. I had a LOT of fun games on the Gamecube. (Mario Party, SSBM, Mario Sports games, Zelda, etc.)
Man, early Nintendo consoles were just riddled with classic and great games. Nintendo has been doing a good job for years now.

The NES for me was my first Nintendo and since then I've had the SNES, N64, Gameboy, Gameboy colour, DS and 3DS and I wouldn't even say I'm that much of a Nintendo fan.

The Nintendo NX will be next on the shopping list, as it probably will be for a lot of other gamers as we're still hoping and wanting Nintendo to make its mark back on the gaming industry like it used to.

Are we hoping for too much though? Only time will tell I guess.

I had all of the above except in place of the Gameboy/Gameboy color, I had the Wii, Wii U and 3DS XL. I believe that the entrance of the XBox into the market several years ago made it cost ineffective for Nintendo to complete in several of the gaming genres with both Sony AND Microsoft. Nintendo decided to focus more of family-focused and/or group-style gaming (MarioKart, Splatoon, Mario Party series) and leave the Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto and other similar formats to the other companies. If the new Sony PSVR deals Microsoft a blow significant enough for them to scale down the Xbox in the future, then there will be an opening of Nintendo to jump back into the fray and compete for the teen/young-adult gamer.

I was born at the perfect time, it seems. First look in the franchise was NES. I remember playing Super Mario Bros. 3 and having such a hard time on the second level... Which looking back at it, it really wasn't that funny. I was a youngin', and I should've tried instead of trying to get my parents' attention without pausing. Big mistake.

After the SNES, I faded out of the Nintendo thing altogether. I shared my brother's systems, but I never really got them for myself. I did play on the Game Boy Color and a few more Game Boy spinoffs after that... But I just wasn't into Nintendo after that until the Wii and its family came out.

My cousin had the NES and my brother and I would always go over and play, but the first console our family owned was the N64 I believe. Used to love playing Pokémon Snap and Mario Kart on that thing.

The Nintendo ES was my first Nintendo system and I enjoyed playing a wide variety of titles: Genghis Khan, Final Fantasy, Legend of Zelda and Swords and Serpents. The Super Mario Bros. and Duck Hunt combo got significant play as did the rest of the NES Mario-related titles. Still, the most complex game for the pre-Wii consoles that had pretty decent AI for its time was the PTO (Pacific Theater of Operations) game on the SNES.

My first console that I can remember is actually the N64. I remember playing Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time, and various other childhood favorites while I was a kid. I absolutely loved it!

I still remember the day when I was introduced to GBA by a friend of mine. He was playing Pokemon sapphire on it was and was narrating his experience. After that I went home and asked my parents to buy me a GBA, the very next day. Well, I was only 12 years then though.
I still have it, fortunately Nintendo consoles are surprisingly durable.

When we were really young my dad bought us the Nintendo 64 and I still believe that the main reason for him to buy us that console is that he wanted to play video games more than we did, lol! But we used to have a lot of fun playing with it, I remember playing Legend of Zelda, Majora's Mask, Mario Kart and of course, Super Mario.
Good times!

The first console I played was a Super Nintendo with Super Mario World. It was second hand passed down from a family member. The first I actually purchased myself was a N64. I did chores for a few months and was eventually able to get it for myself. It was a really proud moment for me and I really got the most out of that system.

For me it was the original NES and even thought SNES came out the only game I was ever interested in playing on that console was street fighter 2. This made me move from the original to sega which had more games that were appealing to me. The NES till this day gains my interest and its cool that they still make games for them upon request. Which says a lot for a system and hopefully the collection won't have run dry before I start collecting again.

My first as also the SNES, I love my system, it was so addicting. I got the "Super Mario World Yoshi's Island" game, and went crazy trying to beat it. There was so many levels, plus on top of that, I remember coming across this other game called Donkey Kong Country, that is my second most favorite game, right behind Neo Geo's "Metal Slug"

The original Nintendo was my childhood friend as I am the child of those who harbor vintage contraptions of antiquity. It was an honor to be in the presence of the prototype. You are the deliverer of all boredom’s forefather and I will hold you forever in my heart no matter what system I am playing now.
