I am using Google Adsense on all of my websites. I made a few hundred dollars which is not bad since it is enough to pay for webhosting and my domains for my websites.

Google Adsense requires a lot of hard work. You need a lot of traffic from visitors who are interested in your content.
It is also a good idea to test out different color schemes for your text adsense ads to see which colours blend the best, and are most noticeable and get the best click rate.
Ad Positioning is also very important since some positions are more likely to get seen compared to places like the bottom of the page.

since I want to keep the forum and website add free I really can't rake much in on the adsense.....
I had better experience making money from Blogs and Websites via Adsense compared to Forums. I think the main reason is most of my content on my blogs and forums are written by me and they are unique compared to my forum which I usually qoute others work and give a source back.
I read you have to post tons of unique articles on a website to make money since Google does not like duplicate content, so you get less traffic from search engines.
