What were you wanting/expecting to see at E3?

What games did you really want to see footage of? This can include non existant ones you wished they'd announce/show as well.

For myself, two things:

1. Anything new. I knew about most of the games, and really wanted something that would have been a surprise. Maybe a Yoshi's Island game. A Wii U 3D Mario game.

2. Donkey Kong 3D

3. Super Smash Bros 4

4. Legend of Zelda (3DS or Wii U)

What did you want?

My expectations were moderate. I wanted info on Black and White 2, and literally just a mention of new Smash. Neither of those happened. At least the Paper Mario and Luigi's Mansion news was nice, albeit without a release date. That would've been nice too.

What I don't get is why those games don't have dates, yet have been known about longer than NSMB2, yet it's coming within a month and a half from now already.

Wii U is whatever. I didn't expect much from it, didn't get much, but wanted to be proven wrong. Did not happen.

Personally, no offence (<_<), but anyone who expected any actual showing of Smash Bros is a complete and utter idiot.

If you at least expected a mention, OK, but if you actually expected to SEE anything (bar maybe a promotional image), then.... as I said, complete and utter idiot.

Why is that?

Well answer this.

Has there actually been any physical development on the game? OK, so "development" has "started" only about 2-3 months ago, but.... has anything actually been done that could have been shown?

That's what people forget. It's only JUST started development. Games at E3 are RARELY shown just about 1 month into development.

As TUK said, it would take a lot of time before the game's actual gameplay, stages and basic models can even be sorted out. People shouldn't be expecting Devs to just randomly pull big games out of their asses.

I don't see what you did there.... can you explain?

I kind of wanted a new Zelda for the Wii U. Though they just finished SS and released it not that long ago so I didn't really expect it. They usually take their time and keep the project well hidden up until it's ready to be shown.

I also wanted a 3D Mario game shown. Not 3DS, but 3D. Like Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy. Just not some kind of Super Mario Galaxy 3.

Exactly. Hence why I merely wanted a mention. Just a simple "development will begin soon" would've raised the Nintendo conference a whole (half) letter grade for me (I'd give it a D, D- as is).

eh, I didnt expect Nintendo to show any updates on Pokemon Black 2 and White 2.... but as predictable as it was..I liked it
I have been waiting for Pikmin 3, and It looked fantastic..but I hate that olimar is gone

why replace a great hero >.>
as for the others, Super Mario Bros U...meh, We're already getting/heard from Super Mario bros 2...I'd prefer a 3D Mario, and Luigi's Mansion and Paper Mario? Yesssss!
I'm so excited xD

The games that where shown where nice to see. But I was hoping for a Paper Mario and Luigi's Mansion release date, not just 2012 confirmation. A slight mention of Smash Bros. would've been nice, and from what I saw of the 3DS thing that was held the day after, they could've elaborated a bit more on the features of Pokemon Black and White 2, when all they did was tell us about the update for Pokedex 3D and that in the new games players are allowed to catch Pokemon using AR. And then they said nothing else. Awesome, yes indeed. But... A little proof or something maybe?

Speaking of the Pokemon games they also didn't say a definite release date for ANY country, not even Japan, which is interesting, because isn't it supposed to come out soon?

However, I must say Pikmin 3 was unexpected but was the first thing talked about and I think it was one of the best games on show.

I highly doubted anything at all would've been shown for Super Smash Bros. 4, since they literally just started working on it. I don't think there will be any news of it until at LEAST E3 2013, if not E3 2014. It's going to take a while, after all, they ARE technically making two games.

1. A Wii U 3D Mario game.

2. Donkey Kong 3D

4. Legend of Zelda (3DS or Wii U)

What did you want?

these ^

The Wii U didn't have anything that impressed me anywhere near as much as last year's Zelda demo. Big disappointment there. It really needed something of that calibre, in my opinion, if they hoped to generate any kind of excitement or enthusiasm for the console.

Everything they showed was decidedly lightweight.

3DS is doing fine, but a few surprises would've been nice. Castlevania seemed like a promising start, but ended up being far and away the most promising new title. 3DS Donkey Kong needs to happen.
