While Sony usually updates their systems with small changes, often, Microsoft tends to drop a whole mess of update on 360 owners all at once. So when they update, they really update. The fall update is already late, so speculation is running rampant as to what new features it will contain.
The Parental Timer has been confirmed. Footballer Jerry Rice and the PTA think this is a good idea. Likely kids who still live at home do not. Other than that, the European market will almost certainly be enjoying the movie and TV show downloads we've been watching in the states. And some web-heads are talking about Divx support, but no one knows for sure.
But other than that, it could be, literally, anything. TheFeed would like to see a surliness timer, so when parents use the parental timer to discipline their kids, kids can respond with automatic surliness. That way, everyone's life is easier.
