Thrill Kill was a four player versus game that featured deranged fighters and gruesome fatalities that made Mortal Kombat seem like child's play back in the PS1 days.

Due to the extreme violence of the game, the developers decided not to release it commercially. However, some employee managed to save the entire game on a CD and spread it to the whole world.

I played Thrill Kill before and it was pretty entertaining. The fighting got a bit monotonous after some time but still, it was pretty darn good. I wonder how the game would look like if it would be remastered on the PS4?

Looks like a cross over with MK and resident evil.
Nice observation you have there. :)

The main draw of this game was that it was very gruesome and it offered  four player simultaneous play. The characters do appear like monsters in a Resident Evil game. The fatalities were very violent for a game of that era.

If you want to play it, there are some websites who offer the ROM as a download which could be played on an emulator. It's pretty cool. :)

I remember this one! The game was actually completed right? I mean, I remember PSMag doing a big thing on it, and doing the whole walk-through bit that they used to do with all the characters and everything. Looked like a crazy awesome game, like something that could have maybe been a classic brawler, like a bloodier version of Smash Brothers.
If I remember correctly, didn't they re-purpose the game engine and some of the coding and everything to make a Wu-Tang Clan game?

Yep, the game was completed but it wasn't commercially released. However, the game was still distributed because some member of the developing team spread the game around. Probably thought that it was a waste not making it available to gamers.

I dunno if they are also behind the Wu Tang game but the two do look and play very similarly.
