Seriously. Just a few days ago, we saw a Zelda anime get shut down because they were literally trying to raise money on Kickstarter:

And on other sites, it seems like every piece of fan art and gimmicky sculpture known to man is being sold for a quick buck or two. So what gives?
When did it seemingly become 'acceptable' to start selling stuff you have no right to sell in the first place?
