It can either be a game from the original Xbox or Xbox 360.

My choice is Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation. That game made me stay hooked to my Xbox 360 for over 20 hours straight when I first got it. Don't know why, but it felt like the greatest thing I've ever played in my life. Maybe I went too long without playing a good combat flight simulator. Although the air-to-ground fights take the fun out of the game time to time, it's still the greatest thing I've played on Xbox 360.

So, what are your favorite games?

For Xbox 360, the first Gears of War would have to be my favorite for the sheer experience it gave me.  My friend and I stayed up all night playing the cooperative multiplayer campaign, and it just felt so surreal.  At that time, I truly felt like I was in the next generation of consoles and gaming.

My favorite original Xbox game would be Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic.  Again, so many memories of just going to the Dark Side and then the epic twist :D.  It was the first game where it felt like you were in control and that your choices mattered, on consoles at least.

For the original Xbox, Halo Combat Evolved. Bungie not only proved FPS games could work very well on consoles, they created an entire universe with Halo. The sense of mystery, the great controls, and interesting story made this game one of the greatest.

For the 360, Halo 3. The epic story, which was supposed to conclude, left us with a cliffhanger and a vow that it was over. That turned out to be untrue, but it was a good "conclusion" to a "trilogy", anyway. The multiplayer is quite balanced, and fun in every niche; it hasn't been outdone in my view.

I honestly don't play a lot of Xbox 360 games anymore, but I would have to say that I spent a lot of time playing Halo Reach with my boyfriend. But I would have to put this in second place, as my favourite game was definitely Lord of the Rings: War in the North - I beat it in 2 days, because for some reason it just captured my attention. Must have been something about the story and the non-complicated quest line.

The Mass Effect series was a pleasant surprise for me--especially 2. I loved 2 and 3, but I have sort of mixed feelings about 1 because it wasn't the first one I played. On one hand, it did start the series off (and on a high note); but it also has a lot of flaws and, now that the two sequels are out, sort of pales in comparison. That said, I think 2 is my favorite, but I absolutely love the multiplayer on 3.

I played the first Mass Effect and loved it to death so it has a special place in my heart. I played multiple playthroughs with a bunch of different characters and pretty much did every sidequest and renegade/paragon options on different characters. It had its flaws for sure but it was a great game overall. ME2 was a great sequel, in many ways a perfect sequel. The pace was drastically different from the first but I still really enjoyed it for what it is. ME3 was the watered down and ultimately disappointing conclusion to the series I loved but overall the Mass Effect series was probably my favourite series of this generation.

As well, Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite were both amazing games with the best story and storytelling ever. Loved both of these games to death.

Like a lot of people, Halo 2. I remember playing it 4 player split-screen as a kid and it was so much fun. Also, trying the superjump on the Lockout map. That and Ascension had to be my favorite maps. I'm really hoping for a Halo 2 anniversary like they did with the first Halo. That would be a lot of fun. Seeing how Bungie did so well with the Halo series, I'm really looking forward to Destiny especially from the E3 gameplay they showed. Looks interesting to have a sci-fi shooter with what looks like magic elements to it.

My favorite Xbox game would be the first three Gears of War games. They contained memorable characters and an imaginative antagonistic force called the Locust. The first three games had the perfect start and finish for the series and I believe it should have been ended there. Gears of War Judgement, a solid game from gameplay perspective, lacked the feel of it predecessors and felt more like an expansion instead of a standalone game. In the shooter genre Gears of War stands foremost in the lead, but another Xbox game worth mentioning that I thoroughly consider another favorite is Infinite Undiscovery.
