And you're the network admin who has to clean up most of the issues, oh it has not been a fun few days o_O
 
As not its not an Ransomware attack then everyone is screwed unless you get a decryption key or have a backup. I have personally have not seen that attack yet although I am just starting my IT career. But it might take long for Net admins and Sys Admins to solve it seems to me
 
What was in the email?

A very crude image of a pdf download with a link taking you to a sus microsoft login page to steal login credentials, three fools fell for it.

Yeah, when co-workers make mistakes, it goes hard when it's your job to fix them.
 
Well, yeah. I do have to clean up messes that customers leave behind. But I don't think I'd want to do your job.....especially when something like that happens.

It's that bad? Glad none of the top guys fell for it. Phishing emails are now becoming a thing in terms of attacking top firms.
