As not its not an Ransomware attack then everyone is screwed unless you get a decryption key or have a backup. I have personally have not seen that attack yet although I am just starting my IT career. But it might take long for Net admins and Sys Admins to solve it seems to me

Did their passwords just get compromised? Sounds like you just need to reset their passwords.
