Personally Goku would have to be that man. Only because the series takes a dip into his past in the original Dragonball series from when he was in his youth. It interest me how he lost his grandfather in his youth (if I remember correctly) and then went out to train and ended up competing in a world martial arts tournament. It's more like a legacy. Once you get into Dragonball GT you start to realize that Goku pretty much has a deep past. Other characters that interest me in a smaller way like that would have to be Hoenhime of Fullmetal Alchemist. In which there's so much backstory to Edward and Alphonse Elrics real dad after the death of their mother that there's still more to learn about it. I actually hope that a new fullmetal alchemist releases one day. I would watch it.
