Mario Kart Wii and Mario Kart DS for me. Both were relatively similar and introduce so many awesome elements, such as online, different kart customisation options and much much more!

Double Dash is a close second for console though, it's uniqueness will never be forgotten.

On home consoles, I can't vote. I like them all. Super Circuit was the first Mario Kart I had, Mario Kart 64 allowed us to smack eachother sky-high with shells, Double Dash had two characters, special items, and best of all Paratroopa, Mario Kart Wii had some great courses and even more characters and the bikes.

But on the handhelds? Mario Kart DS. Super Circuit was OK, but I always thought it could've had a better powerslide system. Mario Kart DS was fantastic, brought the game online, had a few characters and a LOT of unlockable karts; and Mario Kart 7, although great, loses my attention due to a lack of a single-player VS Mode, which is the whole reason I kept playing Mario Kart DS right up until the 3DS came out.

Mario Kart DS and Mario Kart Wii. I never particularly got into/played the games before Super Circuit. Super Circuit was pretty good and I have a lot of memories of it, but the game's physics and gameplay just put me off the game quite a bit. Double Dash was way. way too 'linear' even for a Mario Kart game, you couldn't go more than four feet off the track. And 7 while good (especially the track selection) lacked... something that DS and Wii had.

So why did I prefer DS and Wii? Well the former had some of the best tracks and arguably the best gameplay/game design of the entire series, and the latter had what I'd consider the most extensive range of different options and characters and hence more replay value. However, the track design in Wii was often pretty average, so I'd have probably voted 7 for second best game if allowed to pick two handheld Mario Kart titles.

Super Mario Kart would be another close one for me due to nostalgia reasons. Such a damn difficult game that was on the 150cc Special Cup! Have you SEEN the tight corners on Donut Plains in Special Cup? OUTRAGEOUS.

To be honest, I have never played the Mario Kart games on SNES and Nintendo 64.

A shame, really. But of course I have seen them being played on youtube!

This is probably my most-anticipated game, EVER!!! When I learned that Mario Kart is coming out on the GBA, I was so overjoyed and excited, I couldn't sleep for weeks!

Seriously, I think I went a little mad that year. I kept crossing off each day on my calendar for two months until this game was released. And the best thing? It didn't disappoint!! Ah the memories...

I chose Mario kart: Double Dash because it was the Mario kart game that introduced me to he game franchise. For handheld I chose Mario kart 7 because I really like how you can customize your kart and such.

as much as i love all the mario kart games it had to be a tie between 64 and wii but as for handheld titles ds was a sure win as i could not get enough of mission mode and was a first for classic tracks returning to the series

Mario Kart 64 was my favorite because I played the game so much I got sick of it. I played it the other day and it was a blast. Mario Kart Wii is in second though.

As for the hand held I have to say Mario Kart DS. It's the only hand held Mario Kart game I have and it's most likely the only one I'm going to get because they aren't as good on hand held as they are on home consoles for some reason.

Mario Kart DS is really popular here.

What do you guys think of the graphics? For some reason I found the graphics on the other handheld Mario Kart games better (Mario Kart 7, sure, but also Super Circuit)... dunno, in Mario Kart DS the pixels seem to stand out so much more. Agree? Disagree?
