We've had a few reboots in the movie industry (Batman, Spider-Man, etc), but a few animes have also gone down similar routes in terms of reboots. Do you have any past faves that may be dated in appearance or cut a few corners in terms of the storyline that you would like to see remade?

Personally, I'd love to see a modern Gundam Wing.

THIS! God I would love to see gundam wing remade with current gundam animation. I would think though sooner or later they start remaking some of the old gundam shows.

Honestly, I don't think that any good show should be reMADE. Mostly due to the fact that too many things could be changed, and the things that we love in the "old" version of the show might not become better. Rather so, a lot of the time that remakes are made, there are tons of people that aren't happy about the remake, that prefers the old one. And in a way, I feel that, there's no need to fix what ain't broken. Yes, and old anime is old, the animation might be dated, and all that, but honestly... This is anime. Anime never gets old, I've watched anime that was 100 years old, and surely it looks pretty crappy, but it was definitely watcheable by all means. Try watching a 100 year old TV show (assuming it would exist): I'm sure it would look so bad that it wouldn't even be possible to watch it, if you look past the fact that it would probably contain that old-fashioned type of acting that is just horrifying.

An anime that has say, 30 years on it's back, might look bad, but surely it can still be AMAZING. Besides, there are ton of people who like some anime just because they are old. That kind of people who thinks everythign was better in the past, and thinks everything new is shit.

What I woudl like to see however, would be a complete re-animation of Ergo Proxy. No new voices, no new story, no new NOTHING, just new drawings. The problem with Ergo Proxy is really so that, while they were making the anime, the studio was a bit low on money. In the first episode, it looks really cool, but all the way to the end the drawings and the animations keeps getting worse and worse for every episode. Every now and then you can notice extremely ugly frames, where it looks like someone who didn't quite know how to draw had drawed the frame. Despite the animation and frame problems, Ergo Proxy remains one of the best anime I have ever seen, and if they would change/remake it: I would probably not like it. It's perfect as it is, apart from the animation/drawing problems.

A remake ala Legend of the Galactic Heroes that is goign to start airing soon, is however a different thing. I believe they are going to focus on an entirely different storyline on this one, instead of remaking the same events. Or atleast it will be different, from what I have heard. It may be of interest to all fans of LOGH just because of that: because it won't be remaking the same events in the same way without the things that people loved about LOGH, instead they will offer more LOGH content to the fans of LOGH, which is great.

The differance might not be that big, depending on how you look at it, but I think there's a big differance between doing what LOGH is doing, and remaking a show, even if the new LOGH is considered to be a remake.

To be honest, I don't want any anime remakes. I'd prefer if they work on bringing manga (that may never get anime episodes) into anime episodes.

A more modern Gundam...that'd sell like hotcakes to be honest.

I'd say DBZ since it was such a big part of childhood for so many of us, but Funimation has been doing that recently with DBZ Kai, which is actually pretty good. If only they'd hurry up and finish the series!

I would kind of like to see Pandora Hearts. The old anime was alright, some of the animation wasn't the best, but they finished the anime with an alternative ending to the manga and made it impossible to continue. Also, absolutely nothing was solved. You would get excited watching the anime, excited wanting to see all the answers come together but it ends in such a mystery. I would like to see it remade with improved art and animation and I would like to see the manga be followed much more closely. It kind of looks like the manga is going to end within a year, it would be great if the anime could be a complete version.

I don't think Pandora Hearts is popular enough for that, though.

Honestly I actually wouldn't mind another season of Clannad, not because I feel it didn't end where it should have ended, but I would like to see how things went in daily life after everything that happened, happened.  If not Clannad, then the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, because it is my second favourite anime and I wouldn't mind it again.  As long as there isn't another Endless Eight, that is.

A remade Fruits Basket that is 95%+ faithful to the manga. It might sound weird coming from a male, but the Fruits Basket story is exceptional in my opinion. The original adaptation falls short as it is both only a portion of the story and an alteration of it. The full manga gives additional characters and character backstory. I wont spoil it for anyone who liked the anime but never read the manga and would consider doing so, but there is much more to like about that manga. If it was remade into a full anime  I would absolutely buy that box set and own the series. There aren't many stories I enjoy enough to want to support the studio/author in that way. Maybe I'd get lucky in a few years since they are in a trend of rebooting franchises.

#1 most requested Manga in the U.S.!

Well, to be honest I am content with everything....I thought of kyou kara ore wa....but somehow I got used to that old styled animation as well.

So, nothing for me.
