Which was the most disappointing moment at this year's E3, in your opinion?

Really overall there were not many huge announcements, most of the companies had been talking about their new products before E3 began. I think that is a trend that has been going on the last few years with less and less companies saving up big news for the event, but more just showing previously announced products. I miss the old days, where you waited for these big events to see what was coming.

I would say that nobody brought anything shocker to this year unlike last year. And like I said in another topic, Sony's conference didn't impress me (though I know it was a good showcase).

Yeah, I completely agree. Although I wasn't necessarily disappointed overall, I just felt like the whole thing was a bit lackluster. There were some new installments to old favorites announced and while that is cool, I felt like there was a huge lack of new games. I can't remember when was the last time where virtually all big talking points of E3 where sequels.

For me, as a big Skyrim fan, I think it's not enough that a "remaster" of the graphics in Skyrim was done. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to sound ungrateful, but it's just graphics though. I wouldn't have minded a fix for the character creation, add a few more options here and there, maybe even adding more voice actors, because I am honestly tired of hearing the same 6 people voicing the hundreds of characters in Skyrim. They didn't even change their voice a bit. It's just the same voice for every other person, spread enough that no two would actually have to talk to each other, making an awkward scene. I'm a huge fan of Skyrim, and considering the modding community is still going strong, I think they should have given us even a few quests DLC or something.

EA's entire conference for me. I was really looking forward to Mass Effect, and they were meant to be showing off a new IP. I presume the new IP might have been Fe, but that doesn't really count in my opinion.

The cool thing about the remaster is that it is going to be free for people who own the entire Skyrim package, which is probably most players I would assume. It kinda bummed me out in the past when games offered a remaster with better graphics and charge $40, but you know the gameplay and story is exactly the same. Even for a game as amazing as Skyrim I would not pay more than $20 for new textures.

The announcement of Quake and Prey were... interesting. And, in the case of Quake, also my most disappointing moment in E3. Champions... Character abilities... I don't know where to begin, and given its id Software, I'll wait for more information.

It was definitely lackluster. Mostly sequels. There was the thing by Hideo Kojima, and Horizon Zero Dawn looked interesting. There was also Days Gone (zombie game, does this count?), Fe (niche), and... I think that's about it when it comes to new IPs. In fact, Bethesda could have defined E3 again, had they show actual Quake gameplay, and/or had they announced TES6. But alas, all we get is E3: Sequels and Niches, with some side VR.

It isn´t just that all of the big name games at E3 were sequels, it is that they are sequels that we knew about before E3 even started. Instead of it being ´let us tell you about this new game we are making´... it has turned into ´let us show you about this new game we are making that we have been talking about for 6 months´..

You put it way better than I did. I agree, E3 was always about blockbuster announcements and this year's just felt so 'meh'.

I feel like a lot of things that they "announced" were just stuff that they were re-announcing from last year. The only one that looks good was "Death Stranding". (And probably made Konami realize how much they screwed up in letting go of Kojima, haha.) I know a lot of people were excited for "Death Stranding", saying that it's going to be the game the the P.T. demo/game came from. But yeah basically, this E3 felt very dull. There was nothing to get really hype or excited over.

Konami doesn't care since they are making something completely different.

I feel like a lot of Microsoft's announcements were already leaked prior to their conference and really knocked the wind out of their sails. Scalebound looked pretty mediocre as well. I was really surprised that there was no Read Dead sequel announcement. Didn't Rockstar say they were gonna be at E3? Seems like we didn't really hear a peep from them at all. There were tons of rumors circulating prior to E3 about a Red Dead sequel. I know lots of people were disappointed by that.

The absence of a big Rockstar announcement was the only specific disappointment for me this E3, and there was no really exciting AAA game reveal that came out of nowhere. Overall though I'd give a passing grade to this years showing, most showings seemed to be extensions to preexisting games and consoles, and while not exciting still a lot of good stuff.
