Who is excited about Fallout 4?

I'm wondering how many of you are excited about Fallout 4, and if anyone's going to pre-order that. Fallout 3 is one of my favorite games that I've ever played (I never played the older ones, tho, but I have them on my Steam waiting to play), and New Vegas is also pretty good in my opinion. I am very happy that there's going to be a new Fallout game, and I honestly can barely wait for it to come out. I haven't felt like this about a game since Skyrim was supposed to come out four years ago. I am hardly impressed for the past few years when it comes to gaming, but this got me screaming in anticipation like a little girl waiting for an icecream. I'm also going to pre-order it (hopefully). They have improved on everything from the previous games, and improved the engine (is it even the same engine?) and added voiced dialogues for the playable character. I don't know if I like the fact that my character is going to talk now, I trust them that they know if it's going to work best.

Also, that little game Fallout Shelter for iOS currently looks pretty fun. I, sadly, own an Android phone and can't wait for it to come out on that, as well. It's apparently going to come out in a month or two for Android phones, no info on Windows phones yet tho.

Who's going to pre-order it, and are you excited for it? Also, share your Fallout story if you want.

I too am excited about the release of Fallout 4 (like most people are :p). I was so excited that I stayed up until 6-7 AM to watch their E3 conference live and I was not disappointed.
The new features will probably add so much variety to an already huge game. I've recently read on PCGamer that Todd Howard played the game for 400 hours and is still discovering new stuff. Imagine that..

I don't think I'll pre-order it but it may be a day 1 purchase.

Fallout Shelter is an addictive game. I've played it briefly but it's a brilliant idea. Reminds me a little of FTL, in the sense that random things will happen and destroy much of the progress you thought you'd made. It's fun though.

Recent Fallout story: I'm replaying New Vegas (along with playing Fallout 2 for the first time) and I decided to explore as much as I can before heading to the Strip.
(Side note: I recruited ED-E and Boone)
I accidentally ventured to Nelson where I freed the NCR soldiers and killed the Legion members there.
Then I decided to go for a dive to see if there was something I'd previously missed near the river. I eventually came across two Mirelurks when I was near the shore and I kept swimming because they were after me. I reached Cottonwood Cove.. ED-E and Boone had already caught up and started fighting the Legion, so I decided to join in, after getting rid of the Mirelurks. We just killed everyone, whereas in my previous playthrough I was more "diplomatic" and avoided being violent unless provoked. It was quite fun doing that and my goal this time around is to just kill Legion members on sight, no discussions, no nothing, even if I miss a ton of quests I'd get from them. They're just awful.
I just hope I didn't "break" the game by doing that.

In this playthrough, I also found the Paladin Toaster which I hadn't found before. Even though my character is not a melee fighter, it is a fun, powerful weapon to have and use.

Yes, I am very excited about Fallout 4 as well. I don't know if I am going to pre-order it but I am probably going to get it, hopefully soon. I played Fallout 3 and New Vegas, but I preferred Fallout 3, probably because I've played it before New Vegas. I haven't played the old ones but I am planning to do that sometime. Also, look how many views the Fallout 4 trailer has received, and look how many New Vegas or Fallout 3 trailer got. I don't understand where the extra views came from, but it sure made a storm in the gaming community when the trailer got released. It's getting a lot more publicity than the previous titles were getting, that's what I'm trying to say. I even think it got more than the Skyrim trailer originally did, I may be wrong on that, not sure.

Anyhow, more on Fallout 4. I'd like to play the Shelter game as well, but I don't own an iPhone. Is there any chance that is going to release on PC? Todd Howard said that it's best played on a touchscreen, but I'm sure a mouse would suffice. As for the big one, it really has improved a lot of flaws the previous games had, and I just hope it will be a good PC port, with minimal (or none) crashes and such. Also, VATS has been remastered and looks amazing now. I'm glad they decided to slow time rather than stop it completely.

If it falls in the same league as the other Fallout games in terms of wow factor, mechanics, story, vast open world, true role playing, etc, etc, etc, then Fallout 4 should follow suit and be an amazing adventure. Bethesda so far hasn't disappointed me much. The only time they did was for Fallout Tactics and ES Battlespire. Damn that game was buggy. :(

I saw some people make comments that the visuals are meh because they may be using the same Fallout 3 engine, but tweaked. I never understood why graphics > everything else for some people. I thought games were meant for its game play function, rather than something to simply look at. If people want to look at pretty things, the world outside their computer rooms would be a good place to start. Nothing is more real than real life.

With that said, I think the visuals does the game good justice. If they continue to use the FO3 engine and tweak it up for modern machines, which they are doing, then what's the issue? Just because it's not made for the top-of-the-line computers with the best specs, doesn't make it visually unappealing. It just means Bethesda realizes that their games are worth more than a pretty skin.

I am most definitely!

Fallout 3 and New Vegas were such good rpgs and Fallout 4 is shaping up to be bigger and better.

Fallout: Tactics was only published by Bethesda, but they didn't develop it. Wikipedia says it's developed by Micro Forte, I really don't know if this is true since Wikipedia can't really be trusted that much, but I know for a fact that Bethesda didn't develop that game. As far as Battlespire goes, I really don't know, never heard of that game.

I agree on the whole visuals > gameplay part. Fallout 3 was a great game, even tho the graphics weren't THAT good, but I enjoyed them to be honest. Same goes for New Vegas. They just have such a good gameplay and story, and everything else, and it just sucks you right in and you don't even care about the graphics. There's so much to do, so many interesting places to explore and Fallout is one of the rare games where DLC is actually good! If you haven't played the DLC yet, DEFINITELY check out The Pitt and Point Lookout for Fallout 3, and the Honest Hearts and Old World Blues for New Vegas. The other DLCs are meh but they are not that bad, and they give you nice gear. (Nice, not overpowered). As a matter of fact, I may start playing Fallout 3 some time soon, followed by New Vegas, so I can refresh my Fallout experience.

I look forward to it a hell of a lot. It looks fantastic and I love the base building ideas and so on. Hopefully it can live up to my expectations. I won't pre-order and likely will hold off until cheaper due to the fact I have an extensive list of games yet to play that have already been released before I get around to playing new games.

That is actually one of the ideas I didn't really like about Fallout4 at E3. Fallout is about exploring and discovering new things, making your way through to desert to your ultimate goal etc. I just don't see how base building will be a big part of this, and from what I gather it's not even supposed to be. iirc they said that it's more of an extra thing you can do if you want to.

Just seems to me that it's a lot of time spent on developing something that is just an extra to most players.
But other than that I really liked what they had to show on E3. It's not like they showed anything revolutionary but Fallout is Fallout and I can't wait!

I am quite excited to be honest as I have already played the other Fallouts and I've been waiting the release of this one since ages and I really can't wait the release of the 4th episode of this really brilliant and wonderful series. I followed and watched everything that was being said at the E3 and I was really impressed by the amount of amazing things that have been implemented in the game and the amazing graphics work done. It will be one of the best game ever!

I'm so excited for this game. I didn't know much about Fallout when 3 and NV came out so I didn't succumb to the hype, but I've seen the Bethesda conference 3 times already in my excitement for the latest one. Crafting is going to be great if pulled off well, it adds another layer to the game and I can't wait to add a scope to my Fat Boy.

Well, it's optional. I didn't really like it at first, but it's a cool idea. At first I thought it would be like Hearthfire DLC in Skyrim, as far as mechanics go, which was very clunky and it was all done through menus and not in real-time. But the way they did it in Fallout 4 looks promising, and hey, you don't have to do it if you don't like it. However, if you do it, some traders with rare goods will come and live in your settlement. Probably with unique weapons, armor and a whole lot of bottle caps. I found that in Fallout 3, the majority of the merchants don't have a lot of bottle caps. However, this is my first playthrough where I somehow have over 8000 bottle caps, so it is reasonable and understandable that merchants don't have any, since I probably have all of their caps. I have nobody to sell my goods to until they restock. :(

Anyhow, back on Fallout I liked what they showed on E3, as well, but I think I won't be looking at any other gameplay videos and such, if they were to come out. I want to surprise myself with the game, I'll try not to watch the release trailer as well. It WILL be very hard to resist, but I will try and conquer it!

I've been playing the Fallout Series sents the beginning. I can't wait for this game to come out. I have always loved the Fallout Series. I don't think that will ever change.

I`m definitely excited for Fallout 4. I think the voice over for the main character was the best thing that could have happened to the franchise. Also. the setting seems to be really cool. I`m really curious how they explain the fact that your character survives 200 years. Customization options seem to be really cool as well.
