Why are mobile games flooded with clones/copied games?

Whenever I look for new games on Google Play Store, they're flooded with games that are copies of each other under a new skin. I know the developers are trying to make money, but wouldn't it be better for business to have one game that is really good?

Most games probably use stolen code and assets from other mobile games, and that's why they're similar. Or they happen to follow the same tutorials that other developers do and their games just end up being similar because of that lol.

Mobile games make more money than console + PC together and mobile gamers don't seem to mind that issue so why would devs change?

Mobile games are also cheaper to make

Mobile can monetize things more. People with smartphones prove they have money to spend by owning one. And parents with kids can give companies ad or pocket money.

I feel companies having more mobile games can be better for their business since the government and Google or Apple can ban/remove one of their games for some reason like being overly violent. But, if you have two or more similar games which are less violent , you are still earning money from the non-banned games as long as your other similar games are not removed as well in the future.

It maybe easier to sell a mobile game developer company for a higher price if it has many similar games with a similar or more amount of players per game like how EA has many sports and racing games which look and feel similar to some gamers.

The mobile industry is a market that doesn’t have too many regulations compared to other industries, so developers tend to copy what works. If a game does well, they’ll copy it and try to mimic the success of it. It’s the same reason why Palworld copied Pokemon.

Mobile games are also easily accessible, so developers tend to want to make a quick buck.

I think the smaller screen on smartphones, and lack of physical buttons on most popular smartphones is one of the reasons a lot of mobile games are similar to other mobile games because it could be more difficult to make games with more unique touchscreen controls, and graphics which are easy to view on a smaller screen.
