I think the Linux, and Chrome OS version of Chrome uses less RAM compared to the Windows version which uses more RAM.

I think Linux RAM management is better since Linux OS like Debian gets updated more frequently with bug fixes, and updates, so they fix problems with programs using too much RAM. Plus, many Linux operating systems like Debian and its programs are designed to run quickly even on slower and older computers.

I'm sure the Chrome for Linux coders probably code Chrome to use less RAM on Linux because a lot of Linux users still run Linux on older and slower computers.

Chrome OS is a slimmed down version of Linux where it just runs the Chrome Web browser, and Apps for Chrome.

I use Chrome on a Chromebook, and Lubuntu Linux, and they both run pretty quickly, and don't use a lot of RAM.
 
I wonder if Chrome using up a lot of RAM is mostly a problem for Windows users since I don't hear many Linux, Chrome OS/Chromebook, and Apple Mac PC users complaining about Chrome using a lot of RAM, but Windows users seem to complain more about Chrome's high RAM usage in Windows.

Firefox users also seem to mostly complain about high RAM usage of Firefox when running in Windows, but Firefox for Linux users don't really complain about high ram usage of Firefox running in Linux.
 
I have too many issues with Chrome, such as it not opening, that I use FireFox, Dolphin, or Internet Explorer. I did not know about the memory issue though.

I also experience issues with Chrome for Android not opening and being slow to open.

I don't really like Chrome for Android mainly because there are faster web browsers like Naked Browser which runs fastest in Android in my experience, and Chrome for Android seems to take longer to startup than other web browsers for Android.
