Why do anime fans dislike mecha?

Most of the same fans I know dislike the mecha genre a lot.
I am not sure why and even I don't prefer that genre much. Is it the same for you guys?

This. I've seen all the Gundam anime since Seed (Gundam 00 being my favorite), then you get Gurren Lagann, the Macross series, and even a few rarely talked about ones like Valvrave, Robotic;Notes or Muv Luv that I absolutely love.

It's very popular from what I know and I think even Marcoss is pretty popular as well. I will have to make a note of that
