The game looks fantastic, but personally I feel like the marketing has been a little...muted? Certainly it doesn't feel like it received the marketing blitz that, say, Spider-Man received leading up to its release. A GTA game will sell on name alone, but does the Red Dead brand have that sort of recognition with the average consumer? Redemption 1 came out 8 years ago, so the series hasn't exactly been in the public consciousness in a while.

Just to be clear- I don't think the game will flop. Far from it. However people talk about it like it's guaranteed to be a sales juggernaut and I'm not sure where the confidence is coming from. Does the average joe care that much about the Rockstar pedigree?

Cus they have proven something great from there previous games, I also read on some article that RDR won't hire expensive voice actors it seems like they are confident about the sales.

It's being based on a successful first game and its coming from a studio that just milked a huge 5 year cow on a similar series. The chance of a flop is possible but its more likely they will get another golden egg from this series.

I just saw a commercial for this game a day or two ago. It looks like a good game but I haven't seen them advertise this game as much as some games.

I just think that they go overboard with advertising some games and yet, they hardly advertise some of the other games.
