Why is Animal Crossing getting great reviews?

I don't know if I'm failing to see the awesome part in it, but isn't there more to the game? I got it a day ago, bought the first house and payed the loans. When I go fishing, I donate them to the museum and sell the rest, likewise for fossils. I buy the fortune cookie from Nook's and clothes/accessories. I mean ok it's fun but why are people going crazy about it?

You're only on the second day. Give it time. You'll be the mayor then you can change your town to how you want it. Like build things. Though money takes a while to get to buy things for your town. Plus new shops and Club LOL. It's a day by day game like real life. It takes time. Believe me I played all 3 Animal Crossings and I got bored within a month of getting them. I'm still playing this one more than the others. It's clearly better.

... Because it's a great game. You're going to have to wait more than 1 day, I know I wasn't sure about it on day 1 but now I play it every day and love every minute of it. You'd probably like it more if it wasn't your first Animal Crossing game too.

Animal Crossing isn't really a "play to beat" kind of game. It's more of a daily routine type of thing. I could go on about the quality but I'm sure you understand that. Most people don't understand that you should just play it a little everyday and then quit when you are finished. Playing it for too long kind of hyper-extends your enjoyment of the game, then you start to question it. So I would advise to not do that. Play it until you run out of things to do and then quit there. Don't look for anything else, just wait until tomorrow.

I prefer adventure but this game was money well spent for me.
