This isn't the first time I've observed this. Whenever there's a nationwide protest in my country, all the telecommunications companies will screw with their network, making it very difficult for people to do anything with it.

I'm starting to feel like our government is in bed with them to do that in order to thwart the protest process.

The nationwide protests can definitely hinder communication and the network because it's very possible for the telecommunications companies to also join the protest.

I understand your frustration on this. I want you to know that technical issues, or even cyberattacks could definitely contribute to the disruptions.

Of course it's on purpose. It's to stop people communicating with each other on the ground.
