Before the PlayStation, I was inclined towards playing platform games, action games, and versus games. When the PlayStation 1 came and I played Xenogears, my mind was blown away. It had incredible story and an amazing combat system and believable characters and great music. It was the game that made me love RPGs.

Again, the xenosaga series started with the PSX. But why is it that they're no longer developing a game in the series for the PlayStation? Why is Xenoblade only for Nintendo??? :(

I really should have gotten into this series, I might have if I had better info back in the PS1 days.

While the story was great, the worldbuilding, the music, the characters, the giant robots, the theological punk aspect before suffixing anything with -punk to make a genre got really cool, the spiritual-karmic aspect, the psychological aspect, and everything was just a glorious cloud of pixellated perfection...

...I've also heard some rumors of development drama or corporate contract kerfuffles which meant that when it was done, the core story was basically done. Sure, there'd be some spinoffs but that would lack a little something-something and if it was as bad behind the scenes as was rumored... yeah, critical darling, commerical success, but--if everyone behind it goes, "Phew, I'm never doing that again!" Then, that's why no Xeno love.

Because Nintendo has been funding the development of games like Xenoblade and it's sequel and sony hasn't. If you are going to blame anyone, blame sony for not funding interesting and different games for it's console.

Really? Whoa, I haven't heard of this before. I didn't know that Nintendo was funding the development of some games of Square. That was a wise move for them IMO. They have assured themselves of a very very good exclusive game. What's next? Maybe a remake of Xenogears?

Ah, you got left out on a one of a kind RPG experience. You can still get into it though. Xenogears for the PS1 still holds up pretty well today. I'm not that into the Xenosaga games on the PS2 though.
