Nintendo has confirmed that all of your old Wii downloads – including WiiWare games and Virtual Console classics – will be able to be transferred to your new Wii U. The confirmation comes to us via ABC News, and the report goes on to say that a restructuring of user logins and accounts will occur to help make the transition happen.
We won't know for sure exactly what that means for a while, but if it's anything like the solution Nintendo came up with for moving DSiWare purchases to new 3DS units, the process should involve a lot of cute Pikmin scurrying around your screen.

I wonder how the games will work on the Wii U system? Being HD you might get black bars and I doubt you can use the classic controller on the Wii U.
