It's been announced that in Japan at this time, Nintendo will release their deluxe system in white now.

I don't know why people want white color, that stuff shows dirt baldly.

Not really. Black consoles show more scratches. And if you actually take care of your stuff, color won't matter. White phones look better than black phones.

My White Xbox 360 fat, and white printer does not really look dusty, and I rarely clean it. Although, my Black shinny items like TV get dusty more often, and black does show scratches more easily espiecally shinny black items.

If your console is in a room with a lot of windows or sun light, a white console would run slightly cooler because white reflects light from the sun better like a mirror.  This means the console is less likely to overheat when the sun is shinning on it, and it may last longer from not heating up as much.

White surfaces reflect high quantities of all of the visible range of frequencies of electro-magnetic wavelengths, so the frequencies reflected back at the viewer contain all visible color ranges that are contained in the light hitting that surface and appear the same color.
